We review VPNs that pay us nothing

Mullvad and IVPN have no affiliate programs. We review them anyway because they offer excellent privacy-focused products that deserve coverage. If our reviews were driven by commissions, these VPNs would not appear on our site.

We show renewal pricing

Most VPN review sites show introductory pricing in large, bold text and never mention what happens when your plan renews. We calculate and publish true multi-year costs so you know what you are actually signing up for.

We tell you when you don't need a VPN

Our "Do I Need a VPN?" tool sometimes answers "no." A VPN is a useful tool for specific purposes, not a magic shield for all online threats. We would rather give you honest advice than sell you something you do not need.

Our Commitments

1. Purchase all VPN subscriptions with our own money. We do not accept free accounts or review copies.
2. Publish affiliate commission rates for every VPN partner. No hidden incentives.
3. Review VPNs based on merit, not payment. Providers without affiliate programs receive the same evaluation rigor.
4. Show renewal pricing prominently. The true cost of a VPN includes what you pay after the introductory period.
5. Never accept payment to review, alter scores, or overlook flaws. Our editorial independence is non-negotiable.
6. Be honest about what VPNs cannot do. We do not oversell VPN capabilities.
7. Update reviews monthly. Speed tests, streaming tests, and pricing are checked and updated on a monthly cycle.
8. Zero ownership stake from any VPN company. We are independent and intend to stay that way.
